The Tainted Eagle
“The Tainted Eagle”exposes the truth behind one of the most infamous postal tragedies and how it seemed to be a combined effort from different organizations to sweep the truth under the rug. This tragedy was an example of an organization allowing a hostile environment to escalate into a dangerous situation. After blood was spilled, higher postal officials tried to say they weren't aware of the problems at the Royal Oak Post Office, but official documentation shows otherwise. This senseless tragedy is the only postal shooting that was ever questioned and taken through the grievance procedure, the farthest and longest on record. This was a total of twelve years until a combined effort was made to squash any further attempts to reopen the investigation.
The different agencies documented in this book are revealed through correspondence between myself and these agencies, where you can see exhibits of a total whitewash. This runs through a gamut of the Postal Service, Inspection Service, Justice Department, ATF and others. There's never been a book written that shows how carelessly this investigation was conducted and what measures I feel were taken in an attempt to stop any legal action that could have been taken against them.
The book is 374 pages, 16 chapters and after each chapter there is official documentation pertaining to the investigation, to back up what is written within the chapter.
Everyone was a victim in this tragedy, due to those at the highest level in the postal service that allowed the mistreatment of employees and managers for the sake of power and productivity.
I agreed to be a part of this documentary because I believed in this project and what they are trying to accomplish. I feel very fortunate meeting and working with Emil, James, and Michael. In my opinion, they are bringing a subject matter to the screen that is far over due.
Sincerely,
Charlie Withers
